The Iconic Lexus IS Gets a Bold Refresh for 2026

September 22nd, 2025 by

Since its debut in 1999, the Lexus IS has been synonymous with driving enjoyment, blending sharp handling and bold design in a compact sport sedan. Over the past 25 years, it has defined the “Lexus Driving Signature” and earned the loyalty of more than 1.3 million drivers worldwide. For 2026, the IS arrives with a striking new look, upgraded technology, and refinements designed to heighten the connection between driver and machine.

The new model will launch in early 2026 as the IS 350, offered in two dynamic grades: F SPORT Design and F SPORT. Both showcase a redesigned front fascia that emphasizes the IS’s low, wide stance, while the F SPORT adds new lightweight 19-inch wheels, an available rear spoiler for improved aerodynamics, and optional red brake calipers for a sportier edge. Seven exterior colors—including the new “Wind” shade—let drivers personalize their IS with a finish that suits their style.

Inside, the IS features a driver-focused cockpit with a larger 12.3-inch Lexus Interface display and an equally expansive digital instrument cluster. A new “Forged Bamboo” trim adds a unique shading effect to the center console and start switch, while an exclusive Radiant Red interior option brings extra energy to F SPORT models. Premium sound comes standard via a 10-speaker system, with an available 17-speaker Mark Levinson® setup for true audiophiles. Wireless charging and four USB-C ports ensure seamless connectivity for everyone onboard.

Performance remains a core part of the IS story. Powered by a 3.5-liter V6 delivering 311 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, the 2026 IS is available in rear-wheel drive with an eight-speed automatic or all-wheel drive with a six-speed automatic. Engineers further tuned the electric power steering and suspension systems to provide linear, intuitive response and a more rewarding drive.

Every 2026 IS also comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, bringing advanced driver-assist features like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist. Together, these systems help keep drivers confident and secure on every journey.

With its refreshed design, elevated technology, and finely honed performance, the 2026 Lexus IS continues its tradition of delivering an exhilarating, luxury sports sedan experience.
