The Iconic 2023 Lexus RX

September 19th, 2022 by

The all-new, redesigned Lexus RX has finally been released. Adding to the extraordinary legacy, the 2023 RX’s innovative computational analysis, enhanced materials, and repeatable high-stress testing performed at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama have created the best version of RX to date. The 2023 powertrain lineup includes electric variants, as well as the Lexus-first DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system, and the first-ever plug-in hybrid electric RX. You will have six grades to choose from: Standard, Premium, RX-first Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling and RX-first, F SPORT Performance. We’ve made an RX for everyone.

The 2023 RX is 198 pounds lighter than its predecessor, riding atop the GA-K platform. With stronger metals, innovative adhesives and welds, the center of gravity is 0.6 inches lower. MacPherson front struts provide sharp turn-in and confident, linear handling. Suspension arms and bushings better absorb the passing road’s high frequency vibrations and shocks. The rear’s new five-arm multi-link setup is more compact than before, yielding additional cabin space for passengers, cargo and, for hybrid powertrains, battery pack placement.

On the exterior, you’ll find a spindle body rather than a spindle grille, reflecting the new expression of Lexus design. The seamless grille at the front provides a strong, clean presence, while the body expresses a sophisticated and dynamic shape Available 19 or 21 inch wheels, and a single lens tail lamp that wraps around the body. The refined front shape directs airflow around the body, as does the flush window and door molding, rear spoiler and dimpled underbody covers.

Inside the RX is the the tazuna concept, a design vision inspired by the Lexus Driving Signature, that intuitively orients all essential controls and information (e.g., gauges, available Head-Up Display, meters, etc.) within the driver’s reach and forward sightline. Wireless mobile charge, USB connections, several storage options, and accessibility designed front seats create the optimal interior. An indirect illumination system resides seamlessly throughout the cabin as an expression of omotenashi. Lighting from a palette of 64 colors and 14 themes can be selected to best match a driver’s mood and energy.

Set to release later this year, the 2023 RX is available for pre-order. Click here to claim yours, or click here to learn more about each trim and available technology.
