The Expanded Power and Performance of the 2025 Lexus RZ

The all-electric Lexus just got more electric – Lexus is making a bold move in the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) segment with the introduction of the 2025 RZ, now available in three distinct grades. The all-new RZ 300e joins the lineup alongside the RZ 450e AWD, offering customers a wider range of options while maintaining the signature luxury, quiet ride, and minimalist elegance that define the Lexus brand.

The entry-level RZ 300e is powered by a 72.8 kWh lithium-ion battery from Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL), delivering 201 horsepower through a front-wheel-drive (FWD) system. Designed with efficiency in mind, this model offers an EPA-estimated range of:

  • 266 miles with 18-inch wheels (EPA MPGe: 137/112/125 city/highway/combined)
  • 224 miles with 20-inch wheels (EPA MPGe: 114/96/105)

To enhance ride comfort, the RZ 300e features a subframe in place of the rear eAxle found in AWD models, reducing noise and vibrations for an exceptionally smooth driving experience.

For those seeking greater performance and control, the RZ 450e AWD comes equipped with Lexus’ DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system, first introduced in the Lexus RX. This advanced system utilizes dual high-torque eAxles:

  • Front motor: 150 kW
  • Rear motor: 80 kW

The DIRECT4 system seamlessly adjusts torque distribution between the front and rear wheels (from 100:0 to 0:100) in real time, optimizing stability, traction, and ride posture based on road conditions.

Paired with a 71.4 kWh battery from Prime Planet Energy & Solutions (PPES), the RZ 450e delivers:

  • 308 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of just 5.0 seconds
  • 220-mile range on 18-inch wheels (EPA MPGe: 115/98/107 city/highway/combined)
  • 196-mile range on 20-inch wheels (EPA MPGe: 102/87/95)
