Lexus Celebrates 35 Years of Luxury with Future Concepts at Monterey Car Week

At Monterey Car Week, Lexus commemorated its 35-year legacy with a showcase at Pebble Beach (Pebble Beach Golf Links®, 3rd Fairway – off Palmero Way). The exhibit features a blend of iconic vehicles and forward-looking concepts. Highlights include the 1990 Lexus LS 400, which marked the brand’s debut, and the latest concepts from the Japan Mobility Show 2023, the LF-ZC and LF-ZL.
The LF-ZC, a symbol of Lexus’ commitment to zero-emission luxury, makes its North American debut alongside the LF-ZL, a flagship BEV concept. Both models showcase advanced features and a next-generation digital cockpit, designed to enhance the driving experience with the upcoming Arene Operating System, which aims to offer even more personalized “omotenashi” or anticipatory hospitality.
In celebration of Lexus’ 35th anniversary, the exhibit also featured a nostalgic touch: the iconic 1990 Lexus LS 400, famous for its Balance commercial with a pyramid of champagne glasses. This commercial famously demonstrated the car’s precision and refinement by accelerating from a standstill to 145 mph.
The current Lexus lineup was also on display, including the GX 550 Luxury+ Malbon Concept, GX 550 Overtrail+, IS 500, LC 500 Convertible, LX 600, RC F GT3, and RZ 450e. Attendees were able to experience these vehicles up close and personal.
Visitors were also able test drive select Lexus models, including the GX 550, IS 500, LC 500, LC 500 Convertible, LX 600, RZ 300e, and RZ 450e through the scenic Pebble Beach Resorts community as part of the Lexus Drive Experience.
Lexus also supported the local community by sponsoring a charity drawing for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance®. The prize is a two-year lease for a 2024 Lexus GX 550 Premium.
